Just after 11pm on July 3 police were called to Angus and Coote's Orange store after two men smashed their way in and stole "at least 30 gold rings" before making their getaway in a silver Kia Sportage hatchback.
CCTV footage of the Orange store depicts two unknown males smashing several glass display counters and taking a large quantity of jewellery.
The same men, along with a third accomplice, are believed to be responsible for a similar heist at Dubbo's Angus and Coote store the following morning, where police responded to reports of a ram raid at about 6.30am on July 4.
Police believe the same vehicle was used to smash the entry doors into the Orana Mall complex before two men broke into the Angus and Coote store, extensively damaging the inside of the shop, smashing display cabinets and stealing jewellery.
About 11.30am the same day the Kia Sportage, which had been reported stolen, was located in the driveway of a home on Elizabeth Street, Wellington, and was seized for forensic examination.
Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or anything suspicious in the surrounding areas are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
