Go behind the scenes of the groundbreaking ABC sci-fi series and explore First Nations storytelling, language and creativity in production design, costumes and props. Sydney Film Festival
Save the date
A regional tour of the Sydney Film Festival will hit Orange for the first time in July. The Travelling Film Festival will bring a curated line-up of titles to the city, including acclaimed feature flicks and documentaries from this year's major film festivals; most notably the Oscars, Cannes and Sundance. This exhibition features paintings of imagined landscapes by Orange artist Josephine Jagger-Manners. The works are inspired by the springtime colours in the paddocks between Orange and Stuart Town, in particular the golden canola and regal Paterson's curse. July 26 to September 4. Orange Readers and Writers Festival
Coming up
The Orange Readers and Writers and Writers Festival returns after a COVID-induced break in 2020. The program will feature inspiring fiction and non-fiction authors, including former minister Robert Tickner, crime author Petronella McGovern; ABC journalist Michael Brissenden; Photography curator Helen Ennis and high-profile tree-changer Todd Alexander. Orange Regional Museum's new long-term exhibition, Inherit: old and new histories, brings together stories from across the Central West, exploring the region's history. It highlights big events and significant personalities, as well as the lives and experiences of everyday people. More than 100 objects have been collected to tell the stories that have shaped the past and present. Until September 5.
