Orange Police Station's Chief Inspector Dave Harvey said while police had handed out "several" warnings, residents were overall adhering to health orders.
"We're pretty happy with the way the community is wearing their masks in the shopping centres and whilst they're indoors," Chief Inspector Harvey said.
"On the majority, people are doing the right thing."
With Orange and regional NSW set to face at least another week of restrictions, police are asking the community to continue complying with mandatory mask-wearing.
"If we need to, we'll be giving tickets," Chief Inspector Harvey added, "for everyone's safety and the community's wellbeing."
The restrictions were introduced on June 26 and were due to ease on Friday night, however NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed they would be extended due to ongoing ongoing cases of community transmission around the state.
As a result the restrictions will be in place until at least 11.59pm on Friday, July 16.
Masks will remain compulsory in all indoor non-residential areas, including workplaces and at organised outdoor events. Venues are still required to seat all patrons while dancing is still not allowed in indoor venues or nightclubs.
The four-square-metre social distancing rule remains in place for all indoor and outdoor settings including weddings and funerals, while outdoor seated, ticketed events will be limited to 50 per cent seated capacity.
Gym classes will still be restricted to 20 people with masks compulsory, however community sport is still allowed to go ahead with restrictions in place as it has been since Saturday, June 26.
