About 6.30am on Sunday, police were called to Orana Mall in Dubbo after reports a car had slammed through the front entrance of the shopping centre.
It's believed when inside two people broke into Angus and Coote Jewellery store, while a third person driving remained inside the silver Kia Sportage used to force entry to the shopping centre.
According to police the three had targeted Angus and Coote in Orange around 11.15pm on Saturday night, before they headed toward Dubbo in the silver Kia hatchback believed to have been stolen from Hill End earlier that day.
The silver Kia Sportage was later located in the driveway of a home on Elizabeth Street in Wellington, about 11.30am on Sunday.
The vehicle was seized and is undergoing forensic analysis.
Central West Police District Inspector David Maher told Australian Community Media, at least 30 gold rings were stolen from the Angus and Coote shop at the front of the Orange City Centre complex.
CCTV footage from Orange depicts two men smashing several glass display counters inside the store and taking the large quantity of jewellery.
Police are urging anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
