The gap between third and fourth narrowed to four points last weekend after Spurs recorded at draw at last-placed Mudgee while the in-form Barnstoneworth United scored a 2-1 win over Macquarie at Apex Oval.

Barnstoneworth United failed to win in the opening five rounds of the season but has recorded four wins from five games since and has fired in 18 goals in the process.

It has the Orange side firmly in the running for a top three finish but staying there and earning a place in the major semi-final is something Manson wants for his much-improved side.

"We've really, really got to push ourselves and get a win this weekend to keep four points ahead of Barnstoneworth," Manson said ahead of Saturday's match against Panorama FC.

"We really want to stay away from them because they're playing excellent football.

"Top three is everything. If we get into top three you get two bites so it's important we get there.

"But to be honest at the start of the season we just wanted to make finals football and I'm proud of them already for coming from second last, last season."

Kick-off is 4.30pm on Saturday.
