Stage four of the Southern Feeder Road includes the two kilometre long stretch which follows the same line as Dairy Creek Road and Blowes Road from Elsham Avenue to the Mitchell Highway.

The section from Elsham Avenue to Lone Pine Avenue was opened to traffic several weeks ago.

As of June 25 the section from Lone Pine Avenue to the highway is now also open, effectively removing the detour that was sending heavy vehicles down Edward, McLachlan and Moulder streets over the last eight months.

Line-marking will occur sometime in the next week, weather depending, and while those finishing touches are applied to the road it will again, albeit temporarily, close.

The next stage of the project includes a new intersection where the new road meets the highway, about 250 metres west of its current intersection.

That work is expected to finish in October.

These vehicles may now use the entrance from the highway as they did in the past.
