Helping make for Orange's wettest June in five years, this week's deluge has wreaked havoc on the city's sporting fields and forced a number of games, in some cases entire rounds, to be moved or postponed this weekend.

So far this week Endeavour Oval and Waratahs Sportsground, at least, have been closed and forced rugby union and soccer games on Saturday to be moved, while it was confirmed Jack Brabham Park's load will be reduced.
The Football NSW Country Cup will go ahead at the latter venue however Orange District Football Association made the call on Friday to postpone all of this weekend's games, including those at Jack Brabham and Waratahs.
An inspection will reportedly be conducted on Waratahs on Saturday, to determine whether the club's Western Premier League game can go ahead at the ground that evening.
Orange Emus' senior men's games have been forced to move to Wade Park on Saturday afternoon due to the state of Endeavour Oval, exacerbated by the rain after copping a hammering after the huge snowfall earlier in the month.
Prior to the ODFA's decision Emus president Campbell Hedley predicted other sports may be affected, after confirming his club's games would be played at Wade Park after Orange Hawks' Group 10 Rugby League fixtures.
That move proved a necessary compromise after Orange City Council confirmed it was possible, with Hawks agreeing to move their games slightly earlier to accommodate the two rugby union games at the ground as well.
"It's not ideal but it's a decent compromise and we do really need to thank the council, Hawks and then Bathurst Panthers who they're playing and Cowra Rugby Union Club, who we play, for being so flexible" Mr Hedley said.
"With the amount of rain we've had I'm sure it won't just be us impacted, but none of us can control the weather and we looked at a number of different options, but this was the most likely and we're glad it's worked out.
"Endeavour Oval was hit hard by the snow too because we hosted the Under-14 State Championships there that weekend and it's been pretty wet since so the surface just hasn't had time to recover."
The club's junior games have also been moved to Max Stewart Oval, which is also set to host Group 10 Junior Rugby League games as well, as some of the games in that state tournament were over the June long weekend.
With more rain expected on Saturday people are urged to follow or get in contact with their respective sports' governing bodies regarding field closures or fixture updates.
The governing bodies are in charge of field inspections rather than council, regardless of ground ownership. As a general rule council doesn't step in to close sporting fields outside of exceptional circumstances, like complete flooding.
