Orange Tigers player Jacqui Ryan was part of that side which went down 7-2-42 to 5-6-36 to the Sapphire Coast.
Now she and teammates Lyndall Bassett and Elizabeth Gibson are ready to make an impact when the rep side travels to Shoalhaven next week to take on some of the state's best after 2020's carnival was cancelled due to COVID.
Erin Naden and Kaitlyn Read were also selected in the initial squad.
"It was really good to see it back up and running again this year," Ryan said.
"I'm quite keen to get in and hopefully have some good training sessions and learn a bit more.
"Then I can take those skills back to our own club and hopefully some of the other Tigers girls will do the same and it will actually benefit our group as well in our local competition."
The Tigers nabbed their first win of the season against the Bathurst Bushrangers in the final round before the long weekend break.
Ryan said that 14-point victory was crucial.
"Just to boost a bit of moral and make a statement to say the Tigers are part of the competition this year," she said.
"In saying that, we've got another hard game this weekend against the Giants and then the rep round. Fingers cross we can bring some more skills from the rep carnival.
"Playing against other teams that are quite competitive is only going to make you a better player yourself.
"I'm a pretty competitive person so I'm always going to go into a [representative] competition wanting to win it. The flip-side is you get player development out of it."
Leading the charge for the AFLCW team off the field will be coach Mick Sloan and manager Liz Kennedy.
The pair have guided the Bathurst Giants to 36 wins and two draws from their 46 games in charge, with Kennedy hopeful the Eagles will be able to notch up their first win when they take on Sapphire Coast once again.
"We have a great deal of talent in there and I'm really excited to see what these girls can come up with," Kennedy said.
"The combination of girls from Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst Bushrangers, along with the girls from the Giants, I think it's very exciting.
"I wish it had a bit more prestige about it, but we're looking forward to it and I think it will be a good game. Mick and I are looking forward to coaching them."
Representation by the Tigers on the men's side was strong as well, with Andrew Nelson, Jayden Nelder, Matthew Murrells and Todd Fagan all selected.
