Two people are dead following a horrific crash on the Great Western Highway near Lithgow.

A truck carrying LP gas battles and a white sedan collided at Mount Lambie at about 1.30pm.
The two occupants of the car were dead at the scene and are yet to be identified.
The male driver of the truck was uninjured. He has been taken to Lithgow Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Chifley Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The Great Western Highway is closed in both directions and motorist are urged to avoid the area.
The eastbound diversions include: Range Road, Pipers Flat Road, then Barton Avenue.
The westbound diversions include: Barton Avenue, Pipers Flat Road, then Range Road.
The diversion is suitable for all vehicles.
