A new initiative will see students from three Central Western Catholic High Schools come together to interact and compete across an array of categories in the 2021 Catholic Interschool Cup.
The Catholic Interschool Cup is an interactive three-round competition between James Sheahan Catholic High School, St John's College Dubbo and Red Bend Catholic College in Forbes.
St John's College Catholic Interschool Cup coordinator Dave McAllister said the idea behind the Catholic Interschool Cup first came up last year as an idea to incorporate more student interactions across the region.

"It was a bit of an idea from our executive last year," Mr McAllister said.
"It came up as a way to try and get more involvement happening with the students and a bit of college spirit."
It also gives St John's College an excuse to use it's relatively new mascot, Eddie and to debut their new St John's College Catholic Interschool Cup chant.
Mr McAllister said they came up with three schools to compete due to similarity.
"We chose these three schools because they are all a similar size and all have, both a female and male cohort."
The Catholic Interschool Cup will see students compete across a large range of activities including engineering, debating, netball, basketball, frisbee, touch football, league tag, rugby league, chess, soccer and drama sport.
"It's more for the senior students but we do have students from years seven all the way through to year 12 competing as we have an array of events," Mr McAllister said.
"All of the events are done in the one day for each round and there will be three rounds run on three separate days."

Round one of the 2021 Catholic Interschool Cup saw James Sheahan Catholic High School and Red Bend Catholic College compete in Orange.
St John's College then hosted students from James Sheahan Catholic High School Orange on Monday for round two.
The 2021 cup champion will be decided on Thursday.
Thursday's round three is the cup's final round, and this part of the competition will be held between St John's College and Red Bend Catholic College in Forbes.
