Jack Evans, Nic Drage, Kylie Duncan, Mitch Colton, Jessica Hickman, Katie Baddock and Andrew de Graaff all took part in the Vinnies CEO Sleep Out when they camped outside the Groundstone Café from Thursday night into Friday morning.
Mr Drage is the Orange Business Chamber vice-president and said it was time well spent.
"We're all lucky enough to go back to a bed tonight and there's a whole bunch of people in our community that aren't," he said.
"Doing that for one night to raise a whole bunch of money and awareness is definitely worth it.
"Especially at the moment in Orange with the rental situation, there's a lot of people that are experiencing this on a daily basis."
The money raised will go to Vinnies to help them provide beds, meals and support programs for people.
"It was a great way for us to get together and shine a light on something that in a lot of times seems to get ignored," Mr Drage added.
