But for the game's MVP, the win came as a bit of a shock.
"At the end of the game, I didn't think we had won because it was only a one point difference," Masling said
"But then everyone else started celebrating and so did I.
"I was happy with my performance but I didn't expect to get the MVP."
The win secured them the under 16s division two championship at the John Martin NSW Country Basketball Tournament.
The Eagles flew out to an early double-digit lead, but as the game neared its end, the score became tighter and tighter, with the Magic even taking a late lead. But it wasn't enough as the Orange girls got their in the end.
Beth Masling, Rachel's mum, was in attendance and described the match as a "coach killer."
"It was a bit stressful," she said.
"The girls worked really hard on their defence and the game management was super important and they had to hold their own and stay calm.
"It's a pretty high competition and it's good for the country teams to be able to play each other."
The winning team was coached by Paul Masters and Andrew Harvey.
But they were far from the only Orange side to taste success.
Also representing the city at the tournament were six referees, Russell Marchment, Amelia Holmes, Scott Holmes, Keenan Zegzula, Noah Simmons (who officiated the U12 semi finals) and Carl Smith (selected to officiate the U16 girls premier division grand final).
Other notable results from the tournament included runner up placings for the under 12 boys in division two and under 18 boys in division three.
