Arthur & Co Pet Detectives owner and founder Anne-Marie (who due to the nature of her work doesn't want her last name published) was quick to join the search party.
After receiving numerous calls reporting sightings of Suki, Anne-Marie credited the locals for their support and role in safely recapturing the springer spaniel.
"In Suki's case, the community awareness and the assistance from the Perthville community was absolutely key. If we didn't have that awareness she would still be out there," Anne-Marie said.
"Once we realised there was some consistency in the area she was moving in her owners were able to focus their presence on that specific area with the permission of locals who allowed them on their properties."
Being in such a severe state of flight mode, Suki was unable to recognise her owners which made her recapture even more difficult.
"Dave, her trainer and owner, was in the area and a guy having seen our posts on social media flagged him down and said 'I've just seen her' and Dave got his other dogs involved," Anne-Marie said.
"When a dog is in this mindset sometimes they won't come to humans but they might come to other dogs.
"Her friends were able to encourage her to finally surrender after seven days and she was then able to recognise who Dave was and she jumped in the car."
Since returning home Suki has had a warm bath, some food and lots of cuddles. Anne-Marie said she has now returned to her normal self but it will still be some time before she returns to her working duties.
