A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were called to the scene at around 12.10pm following reports the man, in his 40s, had fallen off a dirt bike, gone into a tree and been impaled in the buttocks.
He was with a group who people who started driving him to hospital, with paramedics meeting the victim during the trip and transporting him the rest of the way via ambulance.
Emergency services were also called to a structure fire in the area, at Paling Yards, not long afterwards on Monday afternoon.
NSW Rural Fire Service operational officer Brett Taylor said fire crews responded to a triple zero call at about 1.40pm on Monday, reporting there was a structural fire at a property.
Four RFS crews including units from Wattle Flat, Peel, Eglinton and Raglan brigades all responded.
Given the distance from Bathurst and isolated location of the building, it took fire crews about 30 minutes to reach the blaze.
Officer Taylor said once fire crews reached the property, they then had to travel about three to four kilometres on a dirt road to get to the building.
He said when crews arrived the shack "was fully involved in the blaze and had collapsed".
Thankfully everyone was out of the building, with no persons injured or trapped.
Officer Taylor said the house fire also started a small grass fire, about the size of a tennis court, which had to be extinguished by fire crews on the ground.
"The fire itself had almost burnt out but there were gas bottles attached to the building and hot spots we had to keep an eye on," Officer Taylor said.
