Work, at Mount Lambie, will involve replacing asphalt to improve the road's surface and will be carried out from Sunday through until June 25.
To reduce the impact on motorists the work is scheduled to be undertaken through the night, from 7pm to 6pm, during that period, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions, including lane closures and reduced speed limit of 40km/h, will be in place during those working hours to ensure the safety of both workers and motorists.
A detour via Range Road and Pipers Flat Road will be also in place for motorists travelling eastbound. Westbound motorists will travel along the Great Western Highway.
Motorists are advised to drive to conditions, allow extra travel time and follow traffic control directions. Transport for NSW is also advising motorists check conditions via the Live Traffic app and website.
