Canobolas Lions Club's $5000 donation to Orange Hospital for nursing education has now brought the club's overall total to $40,000.
Every year, with the exception of 2020 due to Covid limiting fundraising efforts, the Canobolas Lions Club has made a $5000 donation to the health service.
On Friday the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery Di Gardner accepted the cheque for Orange Health Service.
Acting Nurse Unit Manager of Chronic Care, Kerry Porter was also present to thank the Lions Club for the funding in recent years, as it had given her the opportunity to attend conferences.
Robert Fabry and Lyn Ward from Canobolas Lions Club presented the cheque.
Wendy Brown from the Blue Ladies and Men Volunteer organisation also thanked the Canobolas Lions Club for their $5000 donation to assist in funding care packages for their patients.
Blue Ladies and Men provide care packages to patients of Orange Health Service who have had to go to the hospital unexpectedly and do not have any essential items. The organisation provides them with basic home care items, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo and conditioner and a face washer, among other things.
