Manildra and Molong are a pair of Woodbridge Cup towns that have a rich history of locking horns with each other, and on Sunday at Rhinos' home ground, the old rivals will square off again.
Manildra halfback Luke Petrie has been one of the hottest players throughout the opening month of action, and says the key to performing in high-pressure contests like this is staying composed.
A lot of the time, these matches are about who's putting a shot on who, and which bloke the team is going to try to run over, but Petrie wants his Red V teammates to channel their aggression this weekend.
"People can get carried away in derby matches like this," Petrie said.
"Most of the blokes from Manildra and Molong are pretty good mates, but when we get on the field, we just want to stick to our game and focus on what's been working for us."
Something's been clicking for the Rhinos in 2021 as they're 4-0 so far, having put together wins over Peak Hill, Grenfell, Eugowra and Condobolin.
While you can only conquer who's in front of you, one could argue the Rhinos haven't played a side as good as the Molong Bulls yet who are still welcoming back players who started the season injured.
Manildra's entire team will be tested on Sunday, but three Rhinos reps will also run around the day before as Petrie, Zac Reimer and Mitch Gibson will all play at Harden on Saturday.
It's an impressive feat for Petrie to be called into side after just a month in the competition, but he assured Rhinos' faithful that his priority this season lies with them.
"I'm more here to play with Manildra this season but anything else that comes along is a bonus," he said.
He'll get to play with some of the best players the bush has to offer, but a halves pairing with Trundle icon Adam Hall has him up and about.
"It's going to be good to have a run with Hally," he said.
"He's been the dominant half out here for the last five or so years, so hopefully I can learn a thing or two off him."
The only round six contest The Central Western Daily has failed to mention is a battle between the Eugowra Golden Eagles and the Condobolin Rams.
The Golden Eagles will be looking to break into the top four after a slow start to the campaign, while it might already be a case of rebuilding for the hapless Condobolin Rams - they're yet to win a game so far.
Phil Ingram's Cargo Heelers will be treated to the bye after their injury toll has began to grow in recent times.
