Work will involve installing 900 metres of steel safety barrier along a section of the highway at Guyong, about 35 kilometres west of Bathurst.
To reduce the impact on motorists and workers, work will be carried out at night between 8pm and 3am and is expected to take two nights to complete, weather permitting.
During this work, heavy vehicles will be diverted via Millthorpe Road and the Mid-Western Highway through Blayney. Light vehicles will be diverted via Vittoria Road and Millthorpe Road through Millthorpe.
Road users should drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow an additional 15 minutes travel time.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience.
