- "The green was something that reflected Orange and the region. I came out for the first time and the thing that struck me was the vineyard," he said.
"My style is always hard edge and abstract, so I didn't want to do a literal interpretation of the vineyards, just trying to paint vineyards. So it's an abstract interpretation of the region."

So far the design is 50 per cent complete, with the artwork set to stretch over the footpath and onto the road be completed around late June.
One completed, Mr Pounartzis will set his sites on one more piece for the Future City plan which will focus on shadows of random objects.
"As an artist I honestly feel honoured," he said.
"I've been invited in from Canberra and to do something that is designed to last for decades is a big deal."
The list of artists involved in the first instalment of the art project across the city include Julia Davis and Lisa Jones (Sydney), Sandon Gibbs-O'Neill (Orange), Tully Moore (Orange), Kellie O'Dempsey (Brisbane), Catherine O'Donnell (Blue Mountains), Yanni Pounartzis (Canberra), Liz Shreeve (Sydney), Floria Tosca (Sydney) and WBYK (Orange).
