Todd Fagan moved to the city from the Gold Coast prior to this season after a weekend away with a group of mates.
"I liked the feel of the place and I found some work so just moved here," he said.
"I Googled the club and saw they were having a barbecue at Bunnings one Sunday early in the year. I went down there and talked to a few of the girls, got an email and now I'm quite familiar with the club.
"I've played very little footy for years. I had some problems with my body but back into it now and looking after it a lot better."
That proved true on the weekend for the Narrabri native when the Tigers hosted the Dubbo Demons.
Coming off an 85-point thumping in Bathurst the week prior, the boys in yellow and black showed they will be a team to watch this AFL Central West season with a 13.14 (92) to 9.6 (60) victory.
Fagan led the way with a seven goal effort.
"Accuracy was a bit of a problem early in the game but I rectified that towards the end which was nice," the full forward said.
"It was handy to have the ball down there a fair bit on the weekend and good delivery from the midfielders and other forwards as well.
"We're binding together a lot better and I think that will improve a lot more when the season continues."
The only other result from the weekend was a 3.0 (18) to 5.9 (39) loss by the Tiger women against the Demons, with the men's tier 2 side having a bye.
