Saturday's Shute Shield clash at Wade Park is the fourth edition of Easts' Bush to Beach Round, but fears regarding the safety of the trip arose following this week's mystery case of coronavirus in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Mr Murray confirmed on Thursday the club was monitoring the situation and would follow government guidance should a significant number of additional cases be detected before Saturday's cross-over with Central West Rugby Union.
We were waiting for the update on Friday because if there was a number of new cases, it would have been impossible to know if anyone involved in the trip had any contact.

However none were found in the 24 hours up to 8pm on Thursday night and, as such, the club will continue as planned for this weekend. However, Mr Murray did double down and say Easts will continue to monitor government guidance closely.
"Make no mistake, if it comes to it we are still prepared to turn our guys around and relocate the game back to Sydney as late as Saturday morning if we absolutely have to," Mr Murray said.
"Everyone's health will always come first for everyone involved and we have such an amazing relationship with the Orange and Central West communities, if there had been new cases we'd never have put anyone at that kind of risk.

"We were waiting for the 11am update on Friday because if there was a number of new cases, it would have been impossible to know if anyone involved in the trip had any contact.
"(But) we know the man in question hasn't had any contact with anyone involved with our club, including senior and junior players or officials."
A man in his 50s originally tested positive earlier this week and since a woman in her 50s has also did so, however they are household contacts. They are not believed to have recently travelled overseas, worked in high-risk areas or come into contact with anyone who had.
Health authorities are still scrambling to find a possible missing link after it was revealed those cases match the sequence of a returned traveller who also tested positive, however no new cases were detected in the 24 hours up to 8pm on Thursday.
Saturday's Shute Shield clash, in which Eastern Suburbs take on Western Sydney, is being held in conjunction with the Blowes Clothing Cup local derby between Orange City and Emus, with the former club hosting.
The new cases prompted NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to enforce tighter restrictions in the Greater Sydney area through until Monday, with the situation placing pressure on sporting competitions with games scheduled in the city - like the NRL and AFL.
However Ms Berejiklian also deemed those sporting events low-risk and said 'they're outdoor events and absolutely they should go ahead'.
Saturday's clash at Wade Park is, of course, also an outdoor event however the Orange City club said in a public service announcement via social media it will be bulking up its COVID-safe protocols at the ground regardless.
They did so via social media, with Emus also announcing they will support the Lions in enforcing COVID-safe protocols on the day to ensure spectators safety, with thousands expected to roll through Wade Park's gates.
