In 1947, 16-year-old Pat Ford stepped into the ring at the newly established Catholic Young Men's Society (CYMS) boxing club in Dalton's Mill on Peisley Street. By 1950, he was the NSW and Australian Amateur lightweight champion. The exhibition, Pat Ford: Pride of Orange, features rarely seen images, film footage and sporting memorabilia from the short but remarkable career of Orange's 'boxing butcher'. May 1-October 28. Ensemble Offspring
Musical performance
Musical mavericks, Ensemble Offspring, will perform at the Orange Regional Conservatorium on May 30, bringing together some of the most innovative instrumentalists in Australia. Astro + Dreamtime
Plan ahead
This unique workshop will combine teaching astrophotography with learning about the night sky through Indigenous Dreamtime storytelling. Pollinators
Project
Local children will learn about the environment and pollinating creatures in this collaboration between Orange Regional Museum, Orange Regional Gallery and the SPARKE Network of public primary schools. Echoes of Pink Floyd
Last chance + Road trip
Are you a Pink Floyd fan? Then you'll be in your element at Australia's largest scale Pink Floyd concept act when it lands in town as part of a touring. The prog rock outfit has a lasting legacy that spans generations, with this show charting the 1960s to 1990s. The Bathurst Academy of Dance choir will make a guest appearance. Chestnuts & Walnuts

Ah, there is nothing like the smell of roasting chestnuts. Tis the season for chestnuts and walnuts to be picked, as the days draw in and the weather cools down. Rug up (hats, gloves and coats at the ready) and get out to pick your own at a number of sites around the area including Kookootonga Chestnut and Walnut Farm and Nutwood Farm. Mad Max: Furiosa
Star Watch
OK, so, it's not strictly something to do per se but there's fun to be had keeping an eye out for Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Queen's Gambit) who are set to start filming a Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, in various NSW locations. It's still a bit of a mystery on where they will turn up, so keep your eyes peeled. Various
