Just recently 28 bike riders arrived in the city from Canberra to enjoy four days of cycling and tourism.
It is estimated that just this small group contributed $ 34,000 to the economy during its mid-week visit in accommodation, meals and refreshments, fuel, bicycle repairs and components, and purchases from local wineries and cider producers.
This group of cyclists were all members of the peak cycling organisation in Canberra, Pedal Power ACT and the organisation's president, Rosemary Dupont, said the group had experienced an enjoyable time with the Orange community and merchants being very welcoming. Five cyclists even made it to the top of Mt Canobolas.
