Police from Tullamore, about 80 kilometres east of Peak Hill are making inquiries are two Dorper sheep were found shot dead on a property on the Cooka Hill Road.

Dorper sheep are predominantly a meat breed and one of the animals was discovered with its hind legs completely removed.

The property owner believes the animals were killed sometime between April 23 and April 26, with police now appealing for anyone who might have information regarding the incident to come forward.
