The owners of a Summer Street shop damaged by this month's CBD fire are among those recommended to share in $17,000 worth of council contributions toward refurbishments.

Orange City Council will put on public exhibition its intent to provide about 50 per cent of the total cost of re-painting, awning repair and upgrading of four city sites as part of the Future City CBD redevelopment program.
That includes $3387 funding for Sheeradiance which has been forced to close due to damage from the fire in an adjacent premises.
The others are $4622 to Glenmace Pty Ltd for refurbishing the facade and removing a sign at 240-242 Summer Street, $5000 to the Anson Street Plaza Owners Corporation for the refurbishment of the facade at 212 Anson Street and $3945 for refurbishing the facade of the Signature Travel site at 197 Summer Street.
Council has allocated $200,000 to the Future City Assistance Fund with an average maximum of $5000 per application and up to $10,000 for special cases.
Under the guidelines the projects need to be completed by September 30.

Cr Tony Mileto asked the council meeting whether fire damaged buildings would be covered by insurance and therefore be outside the funding guidelines.
Council was told there might be insurance implications and that council would not make any payments until the work was completed.
