Like their crosstown rivals, the sky blues were content with how the round one derby panned out, but there's still things that need improving.
"We worked a lot on our transitions and decision making at training," midfielder Ryan Sinclair said.
"Against Barnies, we weren't very composed and we were rushing... we were probably just a bit rusty.
"We're hoping to actually play a bit of football this week."
Sinclair knows his troops will need to sharper this weekend as they're not only facing the minor premiers from last year, but a side that knocked off Dubbo Bulls in round one.
"We don't know too much about them but they were the minor premiers last year," he said.
"For us, we just need to be getting wins at home to start the season off.
"We can't be going to Dubbo and Lithgow chasing wins at the end of the season."
Kick-off is 5.15pm.
