But, don't get too excited... Jake Humphreys and Riley Krause are far from horse racing gurus. In fact, they're more likely to pick a runner based on its number or name rather than something silly like sectional times or barrier draw.
And Matt Findlay, well, you've seen this from him before and he's hopeless, so there's not much point taking anything he says seriously unless it's about The Simpsons or all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut joints.
Nonetheless, they're going to have a crack. Always gamble responsibly if you are having a punt, and take these tips at your own risk.
RACE 1: MCSIGNS SILVER APPLE - 2YO SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
HUMPHREYS: 5 Mooshaka (Nick Olive - $4.60)
Left them standing still at Wagga on April 4 and doesn't feel as far away from the favourite as what the market is indicating. Has drawn nicely and will take stopping.
KRAUSE: 5 Mooshaka (Nick Olive - $4.60)
FINDLAY: 6 She Loves Rubies (Gary Portelli - $2.50)
It's a Portelli runner so I like it regardless of form, but it won easily over this distance at Towac on debut last month and did it from a wide barrier too. She's carrying more weight than that run, but that won't be an issue.
RACE 2: INLAND DIGITAL 3YO & UP MAIDEN SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1000m)
HUMPHREYS: 7 Mustang Suzy (Matthew Smith - $9.50)
Hit the line hard in her latest trial at Rosehill. Gets McDougall on board and looks to be able to match it with these. An each-way go.
KRAUSE: 10 Queen Dee (Kieran Hazelton - $19)
FINDLAY: 8 White Liar (Grant Buckley - $9.50)
Will strip fitter from a decent debut run in Wagga, where she ran fourth. Mid-weight helps and so does barrier three, particularly considering she looks to be an on-pace runner. Looking to Hot Ranga at $151 as an real outsider though.
RACE 3: WINDSOR SHOWCASE BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1300m)
HUMPHREYS: 8 Sir Finn (Barbara Joseph, Paul and Matt Jones - $3.20)
Not much experience on a firm track but gave it absolutely everything at Sapphire in his last win over the 1200 on a heavy 8. Should lead these easily from a key barrier and will take catching.
KRAUSE: 2 Sons of Bourke (Clint Lundholm - $8)
FINDLAY: 8 Sir Finn (Barbara Joseph, Paul and Matt Jones - $3.20)
I'm not against tipping horses based on names, so Sir Finn... der. Here's hoping it doesn't have my turn of pace, or lack thereof. It'll lead in a field that's not overly strong, so probably should win.
RACE 4: ON-TRAC AG COUNTRY ONLY MAIDEN SHOWCASE PLATE (1280m)
HUMPHREYS: 10 Jaywalker (Alison Smith - $21)
A horror draw for the hometown product but appears to be prefer a firm track and is a shot at the price.
KRAUSE: 1 Bavarian Watts (Michael Lunn - $14)
FINDLAY: 16 Anxiety (Bob Caton - $41)
An outsider without the form, really, but hasn't looked the worst in a couple of runs over similar distance. The favourite is so short I figured it's worth backing a smokey, just in case.
RACE 5: ANGULLONG COUNTRY MAGIC BENCHMARK 58 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1600m)
HUMPHREYS: 7 Discreet Star (William Freedman - $8)
Won well at Tamworth last start over the same distance and should go close on a quick back-up. Buckley has had success at this track and gets a decent gate.
KRAUSE: 5 More Shots (Rob Potter - $4.40 fav)
FINDLAY: 3 Kathaire (Joseph Ible - $6.50)
The obvious choices are More Shots or Would Be King, who shared favouritism on Thursday afternoon, but I prefer Kathaire with Blaike McDougall taking the ride. Finished second behind Would Be King last start, has a decent weight and a better barrier. Me likey.
RACE 6: WINNING EDGE PRESENTATIONS CLASS 1 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1400m)
HUMPHREYS: 10 Flying Honour (Maree Hopkins - $51)
Has been flat last two starts but is probably undervalued due to that. Bolted in at Cowra over 1375m and gets a good barrier, here. You could do worse.
KRAUSE: 6 The Drover (Roy L McCabe - $9.50)
FINDLAY: 5 Frankly Savvy (William Freedman - $7)
I actually have no idea here, but a quick look suggests she underperformed first-up at Scone last start but will be better for the run. Thrown a dart in the dark here.
RACE 7: SPANLINE ORANGE GOLD CUP (2100m)
HUMPHREYS: 10 Lord Tropicana (Gary Portelli - $13)
Can play up from time to time but is one of the only runners that has genuine long-distance form. Blake Spriggs has performed well for this stable in the past and should be able to dictate terms from barrier two. Look for it to jump in single figures if it parades well.
KRAUSE: 8 Eva's Deel (Kody Nestor - $5.50)
FINDLAY: 4 Brown Thomas (Garry White - $4.80 fav)
Garry White wins the Gold Cup for fun, especially with Mathew Cahill riding. Don't bother looking anywhere else, just give him the trophy now. Next.
RACE 8: JOHN DAVIS MOTORS CUP DAY SHOWCASE SPRINT (1000m)
HUMPHREYS: 11 Calescent (Matthew Dale - $6.50)
KRAUSE: 4 Just A Flash (Andrew Molloy - $9)
FINDLAY: 5 Bombdiggity (Scott Collings - $8.50)
Looks like he's been building to something this prep. Will it be a win here? Who knows, probably not now I've tipped it but it looks suited to Towac and loves the distance.
