Sally Gavin, 27, is among just seven young people from all over the state competing in the Rural Achiever Program this week.
Speaking to the Central Western Daily from Sydney, Ms Gavin detailed a jam-packed week which had included stewarding cattle and horse events as well as visiting Parliament House and meeting NSW Governor, Margaret Beazley.
After a lifetime of being involved with the Cumnock Show, Ms Gavin had always aspired to get into the rural ambassador program - the best part of which was the "networking opportunities".
"You just get to meet some fantastic people - [who are] likeminded and passionate about the agriculture industry... and the show movement," she said.
Ms Gavin currently works as the territory manager for NSW at the stock feed manufacturer, Performance Feeds.
Based in Cumnock, the job requires the 27-year-old to travel all over the state. Ms Gavin took on the role after completing a Bachelor of Animal Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga.
This year's other Rural Achiever competitors include: Allister Clarke (Finley), Dione Howard (Milbrulong), Josie Clarke (Bellimbopinni), Kory Graham (Sutton Forrest), Ryan McParland (Jamberoo), Siobhan Smith (Armidale) and Mitchell Dwyer (Cowra).
The winner of the Rural Achiever title for NSW will be announced on Sunday.
