The competition which sees mixed teams of four test their mettle with a series of obstacles and tasks was last held in 2015.
Young Farmers Challenge steward Josie O'Neil said Orange Show Society decided to bring the event back this year in response to community interest.
"The committee and a lot of people in the public wanted to [see it] make a comeback. Especially after last year when there were no shows, people want the opportunity to see and experience something different," Ms O'Neil said.

The challenge itself is comprised of different rounds to enable competitors to showcase the kind of skills typically needed in the agriculture industry.
The winning team will go on to compete at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2022.
Anyone can participate in the challenge, provided they are between the ages of 18 and 35 and in a team compromised of both men and women.

The 149th Orange Show is on May 8 - 9.
