Police are thanking members of the public who contacted them in relation to a man who appeared to be well affected by alcohol when he left a licensed premises and got in his car and drove off.

Police received the call about 4pm on Friday and shortly afterwards the 45-year-old Orange man was intercepted by officers from Macquarie Highway Patrol in Anson Street.
The man failed a roadside breath test and was taken to Orange Police Station for breath analysis where he returned a reading of 0.228.
The man was charged with high-range drink-driving and was released on conditional bail.
Police also confiscated the man's keys and suspended his licence until the court matter is finalised.
