It's been an eye-opening summer for Orange District Cricket Association player of the year, Hugh Le Lievre.

The 32-year-old had to juggle his first child with an action-packed season of play that included an Orange representative debut (in which he captained the Bluebaggers), as well as a stint for the Wranglers in the Big Bash B competition.
Throw a CYMS' captaincy role in the mix as well, and you've got an extremely deserving recipient.
And while Le Lievre is very much a team first captain, he couldn't help but feel honoured after being handed the shield on Saturday night.
"Team success is what you strive for but to be recognised by your peers with an individual award like this is very humbling," he said.
"Particularly to do it at an age where a lot of people have either given up on cricket or life has taken them in a direction where they can no longer play."
Behind every great athlete is an equally great supporting cast and Le Lievre made sure to thank his loved ones.
"I'm very grateful for my wife and how supportive she's been," he said.
"I love cricket and I love being able to do something outside the daily grind."
From a BOIDC standpoint, things didn't pan out the way Le Lievre would have liked but he hopes to see the green and golds putting more wins on the board in the future.
"There's still a lot for us to work on, there," he said.
"We don't quite have the depth that we once had but it's great to be able to put yourself against great players every week."
He's known for his wicket-taking and that's the area he was most pleased with in 2020-21, although he would have liked to have done more with the willow.
"The consistency of my bowling and being able to bowl long spells, particularly in two-day cricket," he said.
"The pressure I was able to maintain translated into rep cricket which meant I was doing something right. Will he return next year? You bet.
"I'll be back... body and mind willing."
