Canowindra Sports Trust president Andrew Pull says the amenities upgrade announced for the Canowindra Oval will bring with it a new level of professionalism in sport for the town and district.

While the project is a few years from completion NSW Public Works is already looking at it. The project will be put out to tender.
"We've had 15 user groups involved in the design and the proposal and we're hoping it will take our small sporting clubs to a new level of professionalism," Mr Pull said.
The development will benefit everyone involved in sporting activities at the Oval - women, men, boys, girls and spectators.
"This will give us the opportunity of new change rooms to support women in sport," Mr Pull said of the development.
President of Canowindra senior rugby league president Andrew Whatman said the development had provided a "really big buzz for rugby league".
"It'll provide the opportunity for a lot more football, rep football," he said.
"It's also good for parents to have somewhere nice to sit down and watch."
They had a big plans for a fantastic new facility and viewing area for the oval.

Canowindra Junior Rugby Union president Brian Swords believes the new facilities will be key to the club facilitating its games from a week to week basis.
"It will be a state of the art facility which will bring a lot to the town, (and give us) the basis to attract and facilitate bigger games..
"Spectators will be able to sit and watch the games out of the weather, it will be fantastic."
Cabonne mayor Kevin Beatty thanked all of the user groups involved with the Canowindra Sports for their contributions towards the project.
"We met with the Sports Trust some time back and they had a big plans for a fantastic new facility and viewing area for the oval," Mr Beatty said.
This is a great facility (already) and this is going to add to it to make it perfect, thanks to the Sports Trust for the work they did getting this off the ground, congratulations Canowindra," Cr Beatty said.

New spectator undercover seating will accommodate 210 people.
The development will include two change rooms with four showers and two toilets in each; a female toilet including four cubicles; a male toilet including two toilets and a urinal; a unisex/disabled/baby change room; a referee's room with an additional shower and toilet and a new canteen/bar.
