The first of five events will see Argyle Australian Saffron and Carbeen Pastured Products give a "show, tell and taste workshop", plus a demonstration on April 12.
'Chicken and Saffron' will be hosted by Angela Argyle, who owns Argyle Australian Saffron with her husband, and Carbeen Pastured Products' Rodger Shannon.
The Argyles dry their saffron differently to most saffron farmers, introducing humidity in their drying process to lock in maximum potency. Something which appears to be working, with their saffron being used by chefs across the country - including three MasterChef contestants.
While Mr Shannon from Carbeen Pastured Products is all about holistic farming and pastured poultry, producing a product that is nutritionally dense in vitamins and minerals.
"[We'll] give our story and talk about our background and how we became saffron farmers and came to the Central West because that's a different story which everyone usually likes to hear," Mrs Argyle said.
This will be followed by a short information session about saffron, including its medicinal benefits and recipes, and then a demonstration on how to steep saffron.
A tasting will complete the event, with the Argyle's saffron being paired with Mr Shannon's chicken broth and a glass of prosecco from See Saw Wines.
Tickets for 'Chicken and Saffron' are still available for $15 per person. These can be purchased through the FOOD week website or by calling 0411 131 975.
The tasting will be held at the CWA Hall, on the corner of Lords Place and Byng Street, at 10.30am on April 12.
