Low interest rates seem to be the main reason for couples taking on large housing loans, that would keep many of us awake at night.
It seems likely that new homes will continue to be large on smaller blocks of land, with smaller families living in them, and often, both parents having to work to pay off the large loans.
I continue to wonder who the people are, who can afford to pay a million dollars and much more for a home.
Those of us who were fortunate enough to buy a modest house, on a good-sized block of land, at a reasonable price, count ourselves very fortunate indeed.
The hard work of turning the house into a home that suits our modest needs in retirement, together with the years of planting shrubs and trees all around our yard, is certainly a million dollar, good feeling!
