Now, every kind of car and bike part, bric a brac, furniture and household item are brought along to be bought, sold and swapped.
The Southern Cross Street Cruisers Car Club's first Swap Meet of 2021 will be no exception, according to president George Georgiou.
The club's meet which is on this Sunday from 6am until around lunchtime at Orange Showgrounds will look very much like a "mini market", he explained. However, there will no shortage of car and bike parts.
Mr Georgiou's own contribution to the Swap Meet will be a 1936 "Moonshine" Rat Rod pick-up truck which he has spent the past six weeks collecting parts for and working on.
There will even be a display area for vehicles that may not necessarily be up for sale but just so enthusiasts can show off their pride and joy.
The only items which are prohibited from being sold on Sunday will be food, alcohol and working firearms.
Sites are still available for those wanting to sell their wares for the cost of $20. Entry to the car swap is a gold coin donation.
Free camping is also available overnight on Saturday from 12pm.
