The former Orange City star won his his fair share of silverware during his time with the club.
This Saturday, he will look to add to that collection when he takes part in the Orange City Rugby Invitational Tens.
"I love getting back to Orange and obviously this is a great opportunity to show some of my Sydney mates where I come from and where I played a lot of my footy and a lot of good footy too," Brotherton said.
"We obviously won a couple of comps there when I was playing and it's great to take the boys back, show them around and hopefully show them a good time."
Brotherton's All Ten Turtles are the number one ranked team going into the weekend, but he says it's more about the memories made off the field than on, that will define the tournament.
"Not so much first-graders, but the team is made up of a combination of country boys and boys that have come down to Eastern Suburbs and we've all got to know each other," he added.
"So whenever a competition comes up we get together.
"I assume the country boys will obviously be tough and put their best foot forward against us city slickers. I'm really looking forward to it and I know my team is all really excited to get out there."
Event coordinator Fletcher Niven said that 19 teams consisting of three Colts, four women's and 12 men's will do battle out at Waratah Sports Ground.
"I'm not a Facebook person, but the number of people that have been looking at the event every single day, I just say 'you're kidding me'," he said.
"We have a team from Wellington, one from Dubbo, one from Blayney, four from Orange, three Sydney teams and the rest are invitational who might have a mix of Orange and Sydney players.

"So we've got a hell of a lot of people from outside of Orange who are staying one or two nights."
The games will be made up of two eight minute halves, with the first batch of men's matches starting at 12.40pm. Both the Colts and women's matches will begin at 1.20pm. There is a little more than $5,000 in total prize money on offer.
