Speaking of losing things, in City's crushing defeat to Cavaliers over the weekend, just six players featured in the line-up who also played in their round 1 victory over CYMS
The biggest loss of all has no doubt been Lachy Coyte, who moved away to Sydney after round 11.
But injuries have also plagued the club this year, to the point that, despite finishing 2nd on the ladder, they may very well be the underdogs going into the finals.
Can City fight off the doubters to cause a finals upset? We will wait and see.
ONE MAN SHOW NOT ENOUGH
For the stat-heads among us, the final round of the year means one thing...awards season.
And there is one thing that stands out among the rest when you take a deep dive into those stats, and that is that teams need more than one or two star players to shine if they are to succeed in the season.
Russell Gardner topped the competition's run chart with 665 for City Colts. They finished sixth.

Dave Neil was second with 494. CYMS finished eighth.
For the bowlers, it was Bathurst City's Clinton Moxon who bagged the most scalps with 30. They finished fifth.
Having those star players would certainly be a boost come finals time, when a three-game hot streak is enough to win a final, but over the course of a full season, depth is key.
BATHURST HAVE BRAGGING RIGHT OVER ORANGE...FOR NOW
While the top of the ladder was split evenly between the cities, with two sides apiece making it to the finals, the season series was anything but close.
In the three round 13 matches where teams from Bathurst played against their Orange counterparts, it was Bathurst who came out on top on all three occasions.
This was a theme throughout the year as well, with Bathurst taking the season series with a whopping 21 wins to Orange's 10 in their head-to-head matches.
Can Cavs and Orange City swing the results this finals series, or will Rugby and St Pat's continue Bathurst's dominance? Only time will tell.
SAVING THE BEST UNTIL LAST
Glenn McGrath's swashbuckling 61 against New Zealand; Ashton Agar's brilliant 98 against the Poms and Stuart MacGill's match-winning performance against Queensland.
Now you can add David Henderson onto that list of great performances by number 11s.
City Colts may not have made the finals, but their 52-run final wicket stand over the weekend will live on in the mind of fans for years to come after they narrowly avoided defeat at the hands of a winless Kinross side.
So what is the lesson to be learned from this game?
Never count out a bowler with the willow in his hands, and never proclaim a win for the students before the final ball has been bowled.
FINALS ARE GOING TO BE FUN
If round 13 taught us anything, it's that the finals should be exciting.
My predication? St Pat's take care of business against Orange City to progress to the grand final. Cavs will pull the upset over Rugby before sending City home.
With a 1 v 4 on the cards, it will be St Pat's who come away victorious.
