Orange Family Dental's Sarah Rourke, who owns the business with dentist husband Patrick Rourke, said it was "time to expand, and unfortunately the Wellness House doesn't have any extra space".
A purpose-built, two-storey dental clinic is being constructed at 147 Hill Street, next to the croquet fields.
"We're expanding from two dental surgeries to seven," said Mrs Rourke.
The business is also recruiting for dentists and oral therapists.
"It will be a gradual process as we grow into the building," said Mrs Rourke.
"We won't fill all seven rooms at once; we'll have the flexibility for dentists to jump from one surgical room to another."
She said most of the equipment in the Hill Street property will be new, and the clinic was slated to be open by mid-year.
"The building is coming along nicely."
She was confident the significant investment would reap rewards.
"We wouldn't have done it if we didn't feel we could meet the demand.
"We have a substantial waiting list and we don't like having to keep people waiting when they need to see a dentist."

Mllthorpe's bowling club is going back to the future with the reopening of the On The Green bistro.
Five years ago Kay Jamieson ran On The Green bistro at the club and it quickly earned a reputation for good, affordable dining.
With her partner Ben Weston looking after the front of house Kay will be bringing back seasonal meals using local produce where possible.
"Keeping the cost down is all about smart cooking," she said.
"Things like lamb will only be on the menu when lamb is cheap, that's the best way to keep it cheap for us and the customer."
