The home invasion is alleged to have occurred on Sampson Street in the early hours of Monday morning, with up to four people involved.
Police are making inquiries as to whether the incident is related to a number of other attempted break-ins around the area between 10pm and 2am.
One of those allegedly occurred on Sunday morning, when three men entered a home on Autumn Street where they allegedly took car keys to a Honda CRV and drove it from the scene.
Officers attached to Central West Police District were alerted and commenced inquiries.
About 4.15am on Sunday, police were patrolling the city when they sighted the stolen car at the intersection of Sampson and Windred streets.
Officers will allege the vehicle was driven from the area at speed after police had indicated for it to stop.
A pursuit was initiated, however the car stopped and its occupants ran from the scene.
Following inquiries, a 19-year-old man was arrested at Orange Police Station, about 3.45pm the same day.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, and police pursuit. The man was also charged with breach of bail.
He has been refused bail.
Anyone with information relating to the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area is urged to contact Orange Police Station on 02 6361 2205, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
