The exhibition, Mille-feuilles (translated in English as "A thousand flowers") features 12 paintings by Jamila Hume, a well travelled artist who has lived in the UK, Morocco and Canada.
Leiarna Dunworth, who owns Peisley Street Gallery with husband Jim, said she discovered Mrs Hume's work via Instagram.
"Two days prior to my contacting her, she'd been talking to her husband about moving from Brisbane to Nyngan for his job, and she said the only way she'd go is if she could find a gallery in Orange to represent her.
"I think this show will be very successful, I'm really excited as I think she is super talented."
Mrs Dunworth said the pandemic had led to people bunkering down and, rather than spending money on travel, they were focusing on their homes, and that included buying art and having it framed.
The next exhibition will feature self portraits of 17 female artists in isolation.
