Cryptosporidiosis is a diarrhoeal disease caused by a parasite, cryptosporidium, which infects the intestine.
A message from the aquatic centre on Wednesday morning read: "We've just received a notification from NSW Health, a couple of people visited the pool on February 8 who had cryptosporidium.
"They had no symptoms at the time, but it can incubate for 14 days.
"As a precautionary measure we've just begun a 36-hour 'super chlorination' which means the pool must be closed during this time. We're also doing a 'deep clean' of all surfaces.
"This super chlorination is just a precaution. We pride ourselves on the daily health and safety standards of our centre."
Cryptosporidium can cause diarrhoea and vomiting.
The centre's message added: "If you have any symptoms then it's best to get checked out by a doctor.
"Thank you all for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible."
The most common symptom of cryptosporidiosis are watery diarrhoea and stomach cramps. Other symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Some people with the infection have no symptoms at all.
