* Scott Morrison became one of the first people in Australia to get a COVID-19 vaccination, describing it as a "curtain raiser" to the national rollout which starts on Monday.
* The prime minister on Sunday joined Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly and Chief Nursing Officer Alison McMillan in getting vaccinated with the Pfizer jab at a Sydney medical centre.
* Heading the vaccination queue was aged care resident Jane Malysiak, 84, who survived World War II in Poland as a child before emigrating to Australia.
* Health Minister Greg Hunt confirmed that he and Health Department secretary Brendan Murphy will get the alternative AstraZeneca jab when it becomes available.
* The first jabs came after hundreds of people took to the streets on Saturday to protest against having the vaccination.

* Victoria recorded no new locally-acquired COVID-19 cases as the government committed $143 million of support for businesses unable to operate during the state's "circuit breaker" lockdown.
* Payments of $2000 to 50,000 businesses aim to compensate for the inability to trade over the five-day period, which coincided with Valentine's Day, Lunar New Year and the Australian Open tennis.
* Victorian Chamber of Commerce chief executive Paul Guerra welcomed the measures but admitted they wouldn't be enough to cover all business losses.
* The one-way travel bubble with New Zealand resumed on Sunday, allowing people to travel to Australia without having to quarantine for 14 days.

* There were six new virus cases recorded in Australia on Sunday: three in NSW, two in SA and one in WA. All were diagnosed in hotel quarantine.
* The national death toll is 909: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
