Kody Moss of Molloy Drive, was charged after police conducted a search warrant at his home on June 25.

The police found 24.4 grams of the drug in powder form in separate resealable plastic bags in the garage where Moss was living.

They also found resealable bags containing a large number of empty capsules, and items that could be used to put the MDMA powder into the capsules.

Police also found cannabis, a glass bong, a coffee grinder to grind up the cannabis and more bags that are used for drug distribution.

Solicitor Barry Bunton said his client understood that he could be charged with drug supply without selling the MDMA.

"The word supply indicates the word sell but doesn't mean the word sell," he said.

"People would come over and consume the MDMA.

"At the time he says he was using the MDMA and cones."

However, Mr Bunton said Moss told him he stopped using MDMA a couple of weeks after his arrest.

"He has not been as successful with cannabis," Mr Bunton said.

Mr Bunton said Moss moved to Orange following a break-up and started using MDMA after he moved to the city.

Magistrate Robert Williams noted Moss initially entered a not guilty plea before changing it it guilty making him eligible for a 20 per cent sentencing discount.

He also took into account information that Moss had no other convictions on his record and that Moss attended the Magistrates Early Intervention into Treatment program.

"I am concerned with the MDMA and also the quantity, and the quantity of cannabis," Mr Williams said.

Mr Williams placed Moss on a 10-month community-based Intensive Correction Order for the MDMA supply and fined him $600 for possession of the cannabis.
