Rural Crime Investigators from Dubbo are investigating the apparent shooting and butchering of stolen sheep near Guerie, and appealing for any information.

The remains of sheep were located on the Comobella Road, opposite the Guerie tip, on Tuesday, February 16 and the animals appeared to have been shot, then butchered at the location.
The sheep were subsequently identified as belonging to landholders from Comobella and Guerie, who indicated they had been stolen recently after shearing.
