A p-plater who was caught driving 146km/h in a 50km/h zone on a suburban street has faced Orange Local Court.

Police saw Lliam Damian Caulfield, 19, of Forest Road, driving a Toyota Celica north on Edward Street between McNeilly Avenue and Little Brunswick Street at 9.38pm on September 11, 2020.
Police radar clocked the car travelling 104km/h in the 50km/h zone and the car accelerated to 146km/h.
Police turned on their lights to stop the car and Caulfield braked harshly locking up all four tyres before stopping near the gutter.
When asked why he was speeding he said, "I don't know, I was just driving".
Caulfield was given a 12-month community correction order with 50 hours of community service and a nine-month driving disqualification for driving at speed in a dangerous manner.
