If Waratah FC doesn't pan out to be successful in this year's Western Premier League competition, it won't be due to lack of numbers.

The sky blues have seen strong turnouts at all of their training sessions so far as newly-appointed captain-coach Adam Scimone is stoked at the talent that's floating around the field.
"The bulk of the A-grade team from last year was there which was nice to see," Scimone said.
"There's plenty of fresh faces, too. We've basically been getting together just to blow the cobwebs out and see what we're working with.
"We're working on a trial match soon that will help with the final team selection."
But, with the big numbers means big decisions as Scimone will need to trim the roster down before the start of the WPL season.
And while it's never fun trimming a roster down, it makes for some cracking competition on the training paddock.
"Internal competition is good for the squad," he said.
"We want to win. I want to give all the boys a chance to make the cut."
New coaches don't always have an easy time winning over the playing group but Scimone's been delighted at how the players have welcomed him.
"Everyone is behind me and they're all really happy with the training," he said.
"The way we're doing things now - all the boys agree that it's going to benefit the club."
The main focus for Scimone this season is to sharpen up the defence and when he put what he thought was his best 11 against another group of guys, he was pleasantly surprised at how things panned out.
"I'll tell you what... those boys were hard to break down," he said.
"We want our defence to be great this year... you can win championships with defence."
