The much-loved Canowindra International Balloon Challenge will be back in 2021, following its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following a meeting last week, president of the organising committee, Andrew Pull said the group was committed to bringing the event back to life.
"Our meeting last week was mainly to sit down as a group and say, 'can we do it with what's in front of us now?'," he said.
"So we decided to go ahead with it but we will be meeting in a couple of weeks to really chew out the finer points."
Mr Pull said despite that commitment, the committee was still mindful of the ongoing impact COVID-19 has on daily lives.
"The committee is going to attack it with a real positive attitude," he said.
"In saying that though, we'll keep it in the back of our minds if COVID gets out of hand and shuts us down, we'll be doing as we are directed.
"But at the moment, with the rules and regulations in place, we are allowed to have a few people and we are going to push ahead with it."
We need to have some glimmer of hope in these weird times.

Mr Pull said the committee had a rough plan for how the event was going to run in 2021.
He said the event was looking at flights taking off from April 24.
"Then from the following Monday (April 26) through to the Saturday will be the challenge, finishing up with the Balloon Glow and market night on May 1," he said.
"We are still in contact with the Business Chamber and community groups and are looking to have an event down the street as well."
Mr Pull said the event will hopefully be similar to previous years but with an emphasis on local entertainment.
"A lot of it will be what we've done in the past, we just need to keep eye on the NSW Government websites," he said.
"The biggest change this year is we are going to really look at local entertainment.
"Whereas in the past we have brought in people from outside, this year we are really going to work on the locals."
Tickets for the 2021 Canowindra International Balloon Challenge will go on sale online from February 1.
Mr Pull said the online sales would assist the committee with COVID-19 restrictions.
"It will be all online, due to COVID, there are going to be some restrictions, so we do need people to register," he said.
"The best way for them to do that it to buy their own tickets online, that will then go into a database that says who bought the ticket, where they live.
"That will help with the red, orange, green zones the government has in place.
"We are reliant, with COVID, on people doing the right thing as well as us trying to direct them.
"It's all just going ahead with a positive attitude and getting it done. We need to have some glimmer of hope in these weird times."
