Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said Orange Police had charged the woman with a number of offences following incidents at a social event in Maxwell Avenue about 3am on Sunday.

"The woman involved was charged with a number of offences including two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated detained for advantage, two counts of intimidation, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of malicious damage," he said.

"It is alleged the incidents included the use of a knife and a metal pole."

The woman appeared in court via a video link from Orange Police Station on Monday.

Solicitor Nico Rump applied for bail on her behalf and said the alleged offence was out of character and she had a limited record containing only traffic offending.

Magistrate David Day granted the woman bail with the condition she not approach or contact any prosecution witness, including the alleged victim.

"She would be in custody for an uncertain period of time on these matters," Mr Day said.

The woman was not asked to enter a plea on Monday and the matter was adjourned until March.
