Amy Vella's seven-year-old daughter Charlotte has level 2 autism, a language disorder and ADHD, which can make outings to the pool - like their one on Tuesday - a little tricky.
But on this occasion they were met with nothing but kindness.
"Charlotte is a bit overenthusiastic when she tries to go swimming," Amy said.
"We were in the water and these kids who were also there took their time to come over and say hello to her which was really nice."
On top of that, they invited Charlotte to play with them, something Amy said was a delight to see.
"I think the main thing that stood out was that they were quite young," she said.
"You know, being a parent myself I feel like I'm constantly telling my kids to be nice whereas these kids, even though they were so young and there was no adult telling them what to do, they were just doing it on their own.
"We're originally from western Sydney, and I know that we wouldn't get that same kindness in Sydney, so it's one of those things that re-confirmed the fact that we've done the right thing by moving here.
"I think we'll be here forever."
