Operation Summer Safe is targetting anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related violence.
The operation is concentrating on policing licensed premises, public spaces, entertainment precincts and inland waterways.
Central West Police District Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said people should not 'over-indulge' in alcohol over summer.
Chief Inspector Atkins said police were maintaining a visible presence.
He said they were patrolling the lake on Sunday and hotels and licensed premises in Orange on the weekend.
Chief Inspector Atkins said a woman, 20, was issued with an infringement notice after she failed to leave a licensed premises in Summer Street at 1.45am on Sunday.
He said, in a separate incident, police removed a man from a licensed premises in Summer Street at 2.15am on Sunday.
Chief Inspector Atkins said the man had previously been banned from the premises, had refused to leave and was escorted from the site and taken home.
He said the investigation was continuing pending further action.
Operation Summer Safe will run until the end of February.
